What we collect

• Account data — your email address, and the name you type to acknowledge our disclaimer.
• Food preferences — your chosen diet and ingredients you like or avoid, used to personalize recipes and cooking guidance.
• Content you create — recipe photos you scan, recipes you save or remix, chat messages, and cooking-session state (steps, timers, modifications).
• Voice audio — when you use voice cooking, your microphone audio is streamed to our voice AI provider to power the conversation. We do not store recordings on our servers.
• Technical data — basic logs and error reports needed to run and debug the Service.
• Beta waitlist — if you sign up for the beta on platewise.ai, we store the email address and optional first name you enter, plus where the signup came from (the referring page and any campaign tags in the link).
• Website analytics — pages viewed on platewise.ai, and whether a visit ended in a beta signup.

How we use it

Only to provide and improve Platewise: reading your recipe photos, personalizing recipes to your diet and tastes, guiding you while cooking, and fixing problems. We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

AI processing

Recipe photos, chat messages, recipe content, and voice audio are processed by third-party AI providers (currently Anthropic, xAI, and Together AI) under their API terms to deliver the features you use. Your preferences and relevant recipe context are included in those requests so the output fits you.

Analytics and cookies

The platewise.ai website uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and understand which pages lead people to join the beta. It sets cookies in your browser and shares a truncated IP address and basic device information with Google. We use it only in aggregate — we do not link it to your Platewise account, and we have not enabled Google Signals or ads personalization. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking cookies for this site; the site works either way.

Beta waitlist emails

If you join the beta waitlist, we email you a confirmation and, later, your invite link. That's all we use the address for — no newsletter, no third-party marketing. Reply to any of those emails, or write to hello@platewise.ai, and we'll remove you from the list.

Where your data lives

Account data, content, and beta waitlist entries are stored with Supabase (Postgres). Recipe images are stored with Cloudflare. Beta emails are sent through Resend. Website analytics are processed by Google. Error reports may be processed by Sentry.

Your choices

You can delete saved recipes in the app at any time. To delete your account and its data entirely, email hello@platewise.ai and we'll take care of it.
